Are you thinking of capturing your customers' ideas and opinions during an event? Cool! Here are our top tips on how you can get the best results.
To get started prior to the event, it can be good to start thinking about what you want to achieve, and when. We like to break it down into before, during and after the event. Like this:
- Before the event: send a video question in an email to those who sign up as visitors. Here you can capture expectations and thoughts about the theme of the event. Maybe something will come up that you want to include during the event that you hadn't otherwise thought of.
- During the event: placements in the event environment with exploratory and exciting questions about the topic, things that can open up discussion on the spot.
- After the event: place video questions via QR codes on free products/flyers/in goodie bags etc., and if possible a link in an email. Perfect opportunity for evaluation and reflection of the event that just took place. This also enables further dialogue in a panel.
A good placement is everything
The location is important to capture the interest of as many people as possible. The best thing is to have the video question where the visitor naturally stops and has time to scan the code. Some good examples:
- Flyers that are distributed or found in goodie bags that come home.
- In places where the visitor sits and takes a break, preferably so that it can be moved rather than fixed.
- On digital screens (television, projector, screen, etc.).
- In e-mails before/after the event.
💡Tip: Place the question where you have easy access. Avoid placing around/on doors as most people don't have time to register it when they are on the go.
Here you see Visit Sweden's touchpoint question placed on a table at a viewpoint. A great location.
Formulate the question to create interest
- Be as specific as possible. Keep the question short and simple, a good length for the video is between 10-15 seconds. The shorter the video question, the more to the point.
- Use personal address. Ex: What do you think about... ? How can we make X better…? What is important to you…?
- Accessibility Adapt. Always have subtitles for the video question. In this way, the person watching the video can also read the subtitle if there is a high sound level around. (Subtitles are automatically found in the settings when you upload the video question in Panelista.)
Our tips for posters and decals
- Make your printed matter personal! It should ideally contain a picture of a person and something that shows that there is a video behind the QR code and not a boring survey.
- Print the question on the printed item. By writing what the question is about, you capture the person's interest and commitment. Keep it short and clear.
- Make designs that stand out and create interest so it won’t get lost in all other impressions and messages during the event.
